Today, is the beginning of the 5th week of the workout program I am doing! This is quite a big deal for me because in the past, I had a habit of getting to Week 3 or 4 and stopping the program. I would see some results, maybe weight loss or looser fitting clothes, and I just quit doing the workouts! Crazy, right? I mean, why not just keep going and see even more weight gone or inches lost?! If I had lost 10 pounds in four weeks, I might have lost a total of 15 pounds or more had I only kept going to the end of the program.
Can you relate to that pattern in other areas in your life? I know I can. And the only way I know to overcome it is to decide that I won't quit on myself again! How many times have I done that with other things? What could I have accomplished if I had only continued on?
This week I want to encourage you to make a list of things you need to complete, be specific down to the last detail. For example, you might plan to give away clothes that no longer fit. Do you intend on just going through your clothes or will you go through your children's clothes as well? And once you complete the task of determining what clothes you will give away, what will you do with them? Perhaps take them to a local mission or thrift store or give them away online through a recycling group.
You may think all this planning is unnecessary, but if you don't have a plan, those clothes may end up in the trunk of your car or back of your minivan for several days or weeks before you end up taking them to the thrift store!
What will you see through to the end, fully committed to finally getting that task completed? I'd love for you to share with us!
Lyn~
Come for the journey, stay for the friendship!
