National Day of Prayer

Praying for Nations and Leaders

Today is the National Day of Prayer.  Though change a bit from its original concept, still holds value in the eyes of Christians who believe this country was founded on faith and divine intervention by God.

How are we to pray for our cities and towns, our community, state and federal leaders and for this country?

The Word says that "The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live" (1 Timothy 2:1-4, The Message).
We pray for:
  • Rulers
    • Local
    • County
    • State
    • Federal
  • Their governments
    • Congress
    • Senate
    • Judiciary
  • That we can go on living simply
    • Military
    • law enforcement
    • Fire fighters
    • Emergency services
  • Living the way God wants us to live
    • Churches
    • Ministries
    • Outreaches
