What Freedoms We Are Blessed to Have in the United States!
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that we are endowed by our Creator certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..."
As I meditate on the words of those who saw the great need for freedom, I am in awe of their simple and humble understanding of the things the Lord desired for us, even before our nation was founded as one nation under God.
I have been thinking about parts of this declaration with interest.
I am so blessed by the foresight of those great men who together took a stand to form a "more perfect union"! This nation has pushed God so far out of it, that it will take another Great Awakening to bring her back. But MY God can!!
Have a wonderful celebration of independence and freedom! Pray for Israel, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and pray for the United States!

- "We hold these truths to be self-evident..." That means when the founding fathers drafted this country's independence, they believed it was obvious to each of them that God created them equal and gave them certain rights as mankind.
- "...endowed by our Creator..." Endowed means furnished; provided freely and naturally (Merriam-Webster.com). The founding fathers were convinced that the Lord had provided us life (Jeremiah 1:5; John 10:10), liberty (Joshua 24:15), and the pursuit of happiness (Ecclesiastes 2:26).
